Similar to the last season, 2017 will begin in early April and run through early September. A total of 15 NASCAR Whelen All-American Series™ events will take place throughout the season. Each event will feature racing in Late Model Stock Car, Modified Street, Pure 4, Mod 4, and Pure Street.  INEX Bandelero "Legend Cars"  2017.

The season-opening event will be held on Saturday, April 8, with the green flag at 7 p.m. "The Pine" will also feature the Southeast Super Truck Series, Southeast Super Stock Series, and Carolina Vintage Racers on Saturday, July 29.

"We can't wait to get the 2017 season underway at LPR. 2017 looks to be another exciting year of grassroots racing in Southwest Virginia."

For the forth season in a row, Lonesome Pine Raceway will team with Kingsport (Tennessee) Speedway,  also known as "The Concrete Jungle." The speedways first partnered prior to the 2014 season.


The History

Lonesome Pine Raceway (LPR) is a 0.375-mile banked oval located in Coeburn, Virginia. LPR opened in the summer of 1972 and has provided race fans from throughout the region with exciting short track auto racing ever since.

LPR is currently part of NASCAR's grassroots racing series–the NASCAR Whelen All-American Series (NWAAS). This series is comprised of 58 short tracks from across North America. More than 10,000 drivers compete yearly in the NWAAS.
